NPS Releases List of Parks That Will Require RBCT CUAs in 2027

Public,

The National Park Service recently released a list of national parks that will require Road-based Commercial Tour (RBCT) Commercial Use Authorization permits (CUAs) for the 2027 season, including the corresponding application window dates for each park.

The announcement also contained a list of parks that have indicated other types of CUAs that will be required for operators utilizing smaller, <16 passenger vehicles. Commercial vehicles that seat 15 or fewer passengers are not eligible for RBCT CUAs, and park superintendents have the authority to determine if a CUA is needed for these vehicles and, if so, what type of CUA.

For more information about Commercial Use Authorizations, visit the CUA website or contact Samantha Towery, NPS CUA Program Manager, at Samantha_Towery@nps.gov.

1 Required CUA Service Category authorizes road-based transport in motor vehicles with capacity of 15 or less passengers. This category may authorize activities in addition to road-based transport such as guided hiking/walking. Approved applicants must comply with all conditions for the CUA service category even if they do not perform all activities authorized under the CUA.
