NTTO: July 2026 International Travel Volume to/from US
In July 2026, international visitor arrivals to the US totaled 6,248,242, a decrease of 0.1% compared to July 2025
Outbound travel departures from the US by U.S. citizens totaled 11,776,323 in July 2026, an increase of 2.3% compared to July 2025
Data recently released by the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) show that in July 2026:
International Arrivals to the United States
- Total non-U.S. resident international visitor volume to the United States of 6,248,242, decreased 0.1 percent compared to July 2025.
- Overseas visitation to the United States decreased 7.0 percent from July 2025, while Canadian visitation increased 7.6 percent and Mexican visitation increased 8.0 percent from a year earlier.
- The largest number of international visitor arrivals was from Mexico (1,696,679), followed by Canada (1,465,644), the United Kingdom (386,960), India (182,146), and Japan (166,902). Combined, these top 5 source markets accounted for 62.4 percent of total international arrivals.
- The top 5 overseas tourism arrivals for July were the United Kingdom (347,882), Brazil (149,437), India (136,645), Japan (134,835), and France (122,144).
- The top 5 overseas business arrivals for July were India (36,459), the United Kingdom (36,353), Japan (30,283), Germany (20,192), and South Korea (17,268).
- The top 5 overseas student arrivals for July were China (13,651), India (9,042), South Korea (4,821), Brazil (2,923), and the United Kingdom (2,725).
International Departures from the United States
- Total U.S. citizen international visitor departures from the United States of 11,776,323 increased 2.3 percent compared to July 2025.
- The YTD market share for North America (Mexico & Canada) was 48.8 percent and overseas was 51.2 percent.
- Mexico recorded the largest outbound visitor volume of 3,707,866 (31.5 percent of total departures for July). Canada recorded a year-over-year (YOY) increase of 7.5 percent.
- Combined YTD, Mexico (24,216,814) and the Caribbean (7,273,995) accounted for 47.7 percent of total U.S. citizen international visitor departures.
- Europe was the second largest market for outbound U.S. visitors with 2,754,661 departures. This accounted for 23.4 percent of all departures in July. Outbound visitation to Europe in July 2026 decreased 1.2 percent compared to July 2025.
