Outbound travel departures from the United States by U.S. citizens totaled 11,473,103 in June 2025, an increase of 2.5 percent from June 2024
International Arrivals to the United States
- Total non-U.S. resident international visitor volume to the United States of 5,278,944, decreased 6.2 percent compared to June 2024, representing 83.4 percent of the pre-COVID total visitor volume reported for June 2019.
- Overseas visitor volume to the United States of 2,802,955 decreased 3.4 percent from June 2024.
- The largest number of international visitor arrivals was from Mexico (1,375,762), Canada (1,100,227), the United Kingdom (283,628), India (214,345), and Brazil (163,416). Combined, these top 5 source markets accounted for 59.4 percent of total international arrivals.
- The top 5 overseas tourism arrivals for June were the United Kingdom (237,677), India (166,527), Brazil (149,179), Colombia (116,544), and Japan (111,072).
- The top 5 overseas business arrivals for June were the United Kingdom (44,638), India (39,273), Japan (29,416), Germany (23,933), and South Korea (18,711).The top 5 overseas student arrivals for June were China (10,031), India (8,545), South Korea (3,286), Brazil (1,839), and Taiwan (1,735).
International Departures from the United States
- Total U.S. citizen international visitor departures from the United States of 11,473,103 increased 2.5 percent compared to June 2024, representing 109.9 percent of total departures in pre-pandemic June 2019.
- The year-to-date (YTD) market share for North America (Mexico & Canada) was 48.7 percent and overseas was 51.3 percent.
- Mexico recorded the largest outbound visitor volume of 3,630,548 (31.6 percent of total departures for June). Canada recorded a year-over-year (YOY) decrease of 7.2 percent.
- Combined YTD, Mexico (20,750,824) and the Caribbean (6,157,947) accounted for 50 percent of total U.S. citizen international visitor departures.
- Europe was the second largest market for outbound U.S. visitors with 3,046,697 departures. This accounted for 26.6 percent of all departures in June. Outbound visitation to Europe in June 2025 increased 1.4 percent compared to June 2024.
