NTTO Releases 12 Market Profiles of Overseas Visitors to the United States for Calendar Year 2025

The National Travel and Tourism Office has released 12 market profile reports of overseas visitors for calendar year 2025 and prior years.  These profiles, based on the Survey of International Air Travelers (SIAT), detail the characteristics of overseas visitors engaged in the following activities: Air (Intra-USA), Visit American Indian Communities, Amusement-Theme Park, Business, Car Rental, Cultural Heritage, Fine Dining, Hotel-Motel, National Parks/Monuments, Package, Shopping, and Vacation.

2025 selected highlights include:

  • Top overseas source markets that visited U.S. National Parks/Monuments were the United Kingdom (1.7 million), France (918,000), Germany (895,000), Brazil (721,000), and India (546,000).

  • Top U.S. cities visited by overseas Business Travelers were New York City (892,000), Los Angeles (485,000), San Francisco (374,000), Miami (372,000), and Las Vegas (275,000).

  • The most likely overseas visitors to go to an Amusement-Theme Park were visitors from Brazil (61 percent), Columbia (53 percent), Ecuador and Costa Rica (both 49 percent), and Chile (47 percent).

  • The top U.S. cities visited by 8.2 million overseas visitors who experienced Fine Dining were New York (2.2 million visitors), Miami (1.2 million), Los Angeles (1.0 million), Orlando (789,000), and San Francisco (722,000).

  • The top leisure activities of the 9.4 million overseas visitors who Rented Cars in the United States were Shopping (87 percent), National Parks/Monuments (41 percent), Small Towns (38 percent), Amusement/Theme Parks (37 percent), and Historic Locations (31 percent).
