International Air Passenger Enplanements To/From the U.S. Up 1.2 percent Year Over Year in July 2025
Overseas Visitation to the United States Down 3.1 percent Year Over Year in July 2025
Data recently released by the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) show that in July 2025:
U.S.-international air traffic passenger enplanements totaled:
- 27.1 million in July 2025, up 1.2 percent compared to July 2024, with enplanements reaching 107 percent of pre-pandemic July 2019 volume.
Originating Non-Stop Air Travel in July 2025
- Non-U.S. citizen air passenger arrivals to the United States from foreign countries totaled:
- 5.3 million in July 2025, down 4.9 percent compared to July 2024.
- This represents 86.6 percent of pre-pandemic July 2019 volume.
On a related note, overseas visitor arrivals totaled 3.3 million in July 2025, which reached 82.9 percent of pre-pandemic July 2019 volume, up from 80.4 percent in June 2025. - U.S. citizen air passenger departures from the United States to foreign countries totaled:
- 8.1 million in July 2025, up 5.5 percent from July 2024.
- This exceeded July 2019 volume by 24.9 percent.
World Region Highlights in July 2025 (APIS/I-92 arrivals + departures)
- Total air passenger travel (arrivals and departures) between the United States and other countries were led by Mexico (3.9 million, +2.2 percent Year- Over- Year (YOY)), Canada (3.0 million, -7.4 percent YOY), the United Kingdom (2.2 million, -0.9 percent YOY), the Dominican Republic (1.2 million, +4.4 percent YOY), and Germany (1.2 million, -0.9 percent YOY).
- International regional air travel to/from the United States:
- Europe totaled 8.7 million passengers, up 2.7 percent over July 2024, and up 5.6 percent compared to July 2019.
- South/Central America/Caribbean totaled 6.6 million, up 2.8 percent over July 2024, and up 18.2 percent compared to July 2019.
- Asia totaled 2.8 million passengers, up 4.5 percent over July 2024, and down 18.2 percent compared to July 2019.
- Top U.S. ports serving international locations were New York (JFK) 3.7 million, Los Angeles (LAX) 2.4 million, Miami (MIA) 2.3 million, Newark (EWR) 1.6 million, and San Francisco (SFO) 1.6 million.
- Top foreign ports serving U.S. locations were London Heathrow (LHR) 1.8 million, Cancun (CUN) 1.2 million, Toronto (YYZ) 1.1 million, Paris (CDG) 942,000, and Mexico City (MEX) 841,000.
