NTTO: June 2026 International Travel Volume to/from US

In June 2026, international visitor arrivals to the U.S. increased 2.7% from June 2025 to a level of 5.4 million, while outbound travel departures from the U.S. by U.S. citizens rose 0.1% to 11.3 million

Data recently released by the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) show that in June 2026:

International Arrivals to the United States

• Total non-U.S. resident international visitor volume to the United States of 5,415,892 increased 2.7 percent compared to June 2025.
  • Mexican visitor volume to the United States of 1,540,494 increased 13.6 percent from June 2025.
  • Canadian visitor volume to the United States of 1,124,176 increased 0.7 percent from June 2025.
  • Overseas visitor volume to the United States of 2,751,222 decreased 1.8 percent from June 2025.
    
    
• The largest number of international visitor arrivals was from Mexico (1,540,494), followed by Canada (1,124,176), the United Kingdom (331,535), India (202,831), and Japan (149,200). Combined, these top 5 source markets accounted for 61.8 percent of total international arrivals.
  
  
• The top 5 overseas tourism arrivals for June were the United Kingdom (284,458), India (159,204), Colombia (143,042), Brazil (133,339), and Japan (119,906).
  
  
• The top 5 overseas business arrivals for June were the United Kingdom (45,676), India (36,561), Japan (27,962), Germany (24,563), and South Korea (18,570).
  
  
• The top 5 overseas student arrivals for June were China (10,028), India (7,066), South Korea (3,439), Taiwan (1,789), and Brazil (1,744).

International Departures from the United States

• Total U.S. citizen international visitor departures from the United States of 11,301,529 increased 0.1 percent compared to June 2025.
  
  
• Mexico recorded the largest outbound visitor volume of 3,456,010 (30.6 percent of total departures for June). Canada recorded a year-over-year (YOY) increase of 3.5 percent.
  
  
• Europe was the second largest market for outbound U.S. visitors with 2,982,766 departures. This accounted for 26.4 percent of all departures in June. Outbound visitation to Europe in June 2026 decreased 2.1 percent compared to June 2025.
  
  
• The YTD market share for North America (Mexico & Canada) was 48.6 percent and overseas was 51.4 percent.
  
  
• Combined YTD, Mexico (20,508,948) and the Caribbean (6,061,348) accounted for 49 percent of total U.S. citizen international visitor departures.
