February 2026 International Air Passenger Travel to and from the United States
International Air Passenger Enplanements To/From the U.S. Up 0.2% Year Over Year in February 2026
Overseas Visitation to the United States Up 0.8 percent Year Over Year in February 2026
Data recently released by the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) show that in February 2026:
U.S.-international air traffic passenger enplanements1 totaled:
- 18.3 million in February 2026, up 0.2 percent compared to February 2025, with total passengers reaching 106.1 percent of pre-pandemic February 2019 volume.
Originating Non-Stop Air Travel in February 2026
- Non-U.S. citizen air passenger arrivals to the United States from foreign countries totaled:
- 4 million in February 2026, down 3 percent compared to February 2025.
- This represents 85.6 percent of pre-pandemic February 2019 volume.
On a related note, overseas visitor arrivals2 totaled 2.2 million in February 2026, up 0.8 percent from February 2025 and reached 85.2 percent of pre-pandemic February 2019 volume, up from 83.5 percent in January 2026. - U.S. citizen air passenger departures from the United States to foreign countries totaled:
- 5 million in February 2026, up 1.5 percent from February 2025.
- This exceeded February 2019 volume by 27.3 percent.
World Region Highlights in February 2026 (APIS/I-92 arrivals + departures)
- Total air passenger travel (arrivals and departures) between the United States and other countries were led by Mexico (3.2 million, +0.8 percent Year-Over-Year (YOY), Canada (2.2 million, -9.7 percent YOY), the United Kingdom (1.1 million, -1.7 percent YOY), the Dominican Republic (846,000, +4.8 percent YOY), and Japan (814,000, +9.6 percent YOY).
- International regional air travel to/from the United States:
- Europe totaled 3.7 million passengers, slightly up 0.7 percent from February 2025, and down 2.5 percent compared to February 2019.
- South/Central America/Caribbean totaled 5.3 million, up 2.5 percent from February 2025, and up 17.5 percent compared to February 2019.
- Asia totaled 2.4 million passengers, up 6.2 percent over February 2025, but down 12.3 percent compared to February 2019.
- Top U.S. ports serving international locations were New York (JFK) 2.1 million, Miami (MIA) 2 million, Los Angeles (LAX) 1.6 million, San Francisco (SFO) 1.1 million, and Atlanta (ATL) 1 million.
- Top foreign ports serving U.S. locations were London Heathrow (LHR) 1 million, Cancun (CUN) 1 million, Toronto (YYZ) 883,000, Mexico City (MEX) 646,000, and Incheon (ICN) 527,000.
